Wednesday was another beautiful day in Albion and we got to spend some great time with the community! Pastor Clint also came to visit and so I took him to visit all of our sites.
Two teams, Team 9 and 3, had the special project of working at Holland Park on Wednesday and helping to construct a new playground for the community. The community also invited all of us to a cookout lunch at the park that was beyond delicious!
The other 7 teams are still at the projects they started at this week. We’ve run into a snag with the sites that need to an inspector to check out new porches and post hole dimensions, but we’re working through it and doing as much as we can. Team 4 has finished their work at the school and is now working at an artist’s home that hosts classes and projects for different groups all year.
We returned home and were hosted by the United Methodist Church that is practically on the Albion College campus. The Methodists and Lewis Chapel AME church provided us with an awesome dinner and then some time of praise and worship. We were very grateful to be hosted by these two churches!
Our theme for the day was “Negative Impact.” Our sophomores led us in a worship service as we talked about the story of David and Bathsheba and how even a man as righteous as King David could be a negative impact. We were challenged by the question of how can we be a positive impact as Christians. We had small groups and then were off to bed!
