USO Service Project – May 7 – Items to Bring

April 30, 2014

On May 7 we will spend some time during youth fellowship assisting the USO in providing “care packages” to our troops serving overseas. We will contribute some of the contents of those packages and ask that the youth bring the following that night. None of these items should cost more than around $6 and most will cost less than that.

Last Name Beginning With:

A – F  – Deck of playing cards

G – L  – Magazine, crossword, or Sudoku booklet (magazines should be of general interest like sports, news, music, etc.)

M – R  – Trail mix, nuts, granola bars, or beef jerky (remember these snacks will go to some very hot climates, so nothing that melts – like chocolate)

S – Z  –  Small containers of coffee or powdered drink mixes like tea or lemonade

Everyone: If you have old magazines sitting around, bring them in, they’ll cost you nothing.

While the military provides food, housing, and clothing, these little things that we take for granted mean a great deal to our service men and women.  Thanks.
